Delivery of unframed artworks

For unframed work, About Art B.V. works with PostNL. Your artwork will be shipped in a cardboard tube and sent as a package. Together with PostNL, we aim to deliver your order as soon as possible. This is normally the very next business day, sometimes it takes a day extra. You can view the current status of your order on your 'My account ' page. Unfortunately, About Art cannot accept responsibility for delays on the part of PostNL.

If you are not at home at the time of delivery, PostNL will try to redeliver the following day. If they are not able to redeliver, your package will be available to collect from the collection office the following day. PostNL will leave a message in your letterbox telling you where you can collect your shipment. The package will remain at this location for three weeks.

Tip! If you are often not at home, have the package delivered to your work, family or a friend. Specify a different delivery address during the payment process.

Delivery of framed artworks

After you have paid for your artwork, you will receive a confirmation of order. From that moment, your artwork will be professionally framed in the frame and in the manner you have chosen. Our carrier will then contact you by e-mail to make an appointment for the day of delivery. This will be within 10 working days or in some cases even less.

Delivery times

We aim to deliver your artwork to your home within 10 working days. We will do everything we can to meet this deadline; however, no rights may be derived from this in cases of force majeure, including any such cases affecting About Art.

Shipping costs

About Art does not charge shipping costs; the work of art you ordered will be delivered to your home free of charge, or to another address specified by you.

Returns

You have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving reasons. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you or a third party appointed by you, other than the transporter, acquires physical possession of the goods. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us using an unequivocal statement (e.g. by e-mail via info@aboutart.nl) that you wish to withdraw from the contract. You may use the model withdrawal form for this purpose, but you are not obliged to do so. To comply with the withdrawal period, it is sufficient for you to send us your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of the revocation
If you withdraw from the agreement, you will receive back from us all payments you have made up to that time, including delivery charges, immediately and in any event no later than 14 days after we have been informed of your decision to withdraw from the agreement. If you only return part of your order, the delivery costs for the outward shipment will not be refunded. We will refund you by the same means of payment with which you made the original transaction unless you have expressly agreed to another means of payment; in any case, no charges will be made for the refund. We may delay the refund until we have received the goods back, or you have demonstrated that you have returned the goods, whichever comes first.

You must return or hand over the goods to us immediately, but in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which you have notified us of your decision to withdraw from the contract. You will be on time if you return the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.

You will bear the direct cost of returning the goods. When you register your return, our carrier will contact you to make an appointment to collect the artwork from your home or other (work) address. What are the costs of returning the artwork? The costs are 25 euros, provided the artwork is packed by you in its original packaging. If the carrier has to pack the artwork because the original packaging is missing, the costs are 10 euros.

You shall only be liable for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from the use of the goods which goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Delayed delivery

We strive to deliver orders within the stipulated delivery time. If a delivery is delayed, we will try to inform you about this as soon as possible.

Items not available

We strive to deliver all the items ordered. If an item is nevertheless unavailable, you will be notified by e-mail. We will refund the amount paid to the account number or the card you originally used for payment within 7 working days, depending on the payment method used.

Responsibility

A unique feature of our service is that About Art takes responsibility for the risks of transport and insurance up until the moment you sign for receipt of your artwork. We expressly exclude international shipments from this, i.e. they do not fall under the responsibility of About Art. This is in connection with the legislation regarding imports of works of art in force in the country in question. For details about imports and exports, we refer you to our Terms & Conditions page.
